AMO RESIDENCE – New Living Aspirations

AMO Residence with its proximity to Ang Mo Kio-Bishan is the neighbourhood of choice because of its central location. It is a mature estate carefully crafted over the years, to cater to people of all ages, professions and interest.

As a mature housing estate, AMO Residence at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 is an attractive location for potential home owners because of its ease of transport, myriad of amenities and shopping facilities,  and enviable proximity to recreation spaces and employment clusters.

Ang Mo Kio is also popular with young families who wish to live near their parents. Besides building new homes amongst the existing housing, additional facilities will be built and existing amenities upgraded to create a high-quality living environment tailored to the needs of residents.

While AMO Residence at Ang MO Kio is well served by two bus interchanges, two MRT stations, two expressways and a good road network, it will see further enhancement to public transport services and roads that will make travelling within the town and to other parts of Singapore even faster and more efficient. This include:

  • The Cross Island Line, which will pass through Ang Mo Kio when it starts operations by 2030, will serve as an alternative east-west MRT route
  • Addition of two new MRT stations (Lentor and Mayflower) on the Thomson Line. This allows for faster commute between the town and the city
  • The North-South Expressway(NSE), expected to complete around 2027. This will shorten travel times between the city and Ang Mo Kio, as well as northern parts of Singapore

With its many commercial and industrial developments, Ang Mo Kio currently offers plenty of employment opportunities and allows residents to enjoy short commutes to work. More jobs will be created within existing industrial parks, with new developments such as:

  • Redevelopment of existing industrial buildings at Tagore Industrial Park
  • A new industrial complex at Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 3

With easy access to regional and community parks, as well as to the Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park and Lower Pierce Reservoir, residents in Ang Mo Kio have no lack of options when it comes to enjoying the outdoors.

To bring nature closer to residents, more green spaces will be implemented in the coming years. Residents can also get active and fit with more recreational options:

    • A cycling network within Ang Mo Kio
    • An extended park connector along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5

Already has an efficient netwerk of  buses, MRT and Expressways, residents of AMO Residence can look forward to further transport enhancements with the adiition of the Cross-Island Line (CRL) and the North-South Corridor(NSC).

The Cross Island Line MRT construction is expected to complete in 2030. When completed, the station will be an interchange between the Cross Island Line and North-South Line. It will have entrances that connect directly to different residential blocks, Ang Mo Kio Integrated Transport Hub, AMK Hub and Ang Mo Kio Town Garden East.

Travel time between Pasir Ris and Ang Mo Kio is  expected to be reduced to 25 minutes from the current one hour. With the new Cross Island Line station, commuters can also expect to save 70 minutes of travel time from Ang Mo Kio to Aviation Park, bringing it down to 35 minutes, according to LTA.

The North-South Corridor (NSC) will be a Transit Priority Corridor, featuring dedicated bus lanes, cycling trunk routes and pedestrian paths, to serve public bus commuters, active mobility users and pedestrians. Expected to complete in 2027, it will directly connect the Northern region and the city centre.

With dedicated and continuous bus lanes coupled with bus priority signals, bus commuters will be expected to save an average of 10 to 15 minutes of travel time.

Active mobility users and pedestrians will also benefit from NSC, through the cycling trunk routes and pedestrian paths. These will link with the Park Connector Network and local cycling paths within HDB towns along the entire corridor, enhancing connectivity for active mobility users and pedestrians.
